On Thursday, during an appearance on PBS NewsHour, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had said a “sick sexist smear” about New York Republican Representative Elise Stefanik.
The PBS host had asked Pelosi what she thought about Stefanik after former President Donald Trump’s endorsement. He had endorsed Stefanik to replace Wyoming Representative Liz Cheney as the chair of the House Republican Conference.
“Any comment on Elise Stefanik?” was the question asked.
Part of Pelosi’s reply was, “That’s really just up to them. Maybe she’s more, shall we say, compliant?”
In response, Stefanik tweeted, “A sick sexist smear from Pelosi who will lose her gavel in 551 days. Yet the media doesn’t bat an eye! Imagine if “these words were uttered” about a Dem woman? Would be outrage coverage & the Speaker would have to resign.”
Again, nothing is surprising about this as the left’s double standard seems to have no end.
Trump’s endorsement read:
“Liz Cheney is a warmongering fool who has no business in Republican Party Leadership,” Trump had written in a statement. “We want leaders who believe in the Make America Great Again movement and prioritize the values of America First. Elise Stefanik is a far superior choice, and she has my COMPLETE and TOTAL Endorsement for GOP Conference Chair. Elise is a tough and smart communicator!”
