On April 15, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey threatened to file a lawsuit against the administration over the anti-gun measures proposed by President Joe Biden.

After Biden announced a series of gun control executive orders, Morrisey didn’t hesitate to voice his disagreement with the President’s proposals immediately.

“Defending the Second Amendment remains one of the most important priorities for the West Virginia attorney general’s office. I will not allow the far left to run roughshod over our citizens’ gun rights. If President Biden follows through on his promises, we will be in court very quickly,” Morrisey said in his statement.

Biden ordered the Department of Justice to propose laws to make homemade “ghost guns” subject to background checks. He also directed them to develop a model “red flag” legislation for states to use as guidelines. Biden proposed these laws to temporarily block people from obtaining firearms if they threaten themselves or other people.

After hearing Biden’s proposals, Morrisey added, “Gun violence and the senseless death attributed to it should pain all Americans; however, the evil acts of a select few should never be a catalyst for stripping the lawful masses of their constitutional rights, especially the right to self-defense and to bear arms.”

Looking back at the President’s speech in the Rose Garden, he said, “We’re taking steps to confront not just the gun crisis, but what is actually a public health crisis. Nothing I’m about to recommend in any way impinges on the Second Amendment. Their phony arguments suggest that these are Second Amendment rights at stake for what we’re talking about—but no amendment to the Constitution is absolute.” Clearly, he is okay with violating the Constitution.

Biden continued, “You can’t yell ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theater and call it freedom of speech. From the very beginning, you couldn’t own any weapon you wanted to own. From the very beginning, the Second Amendment existed; certain people weren’t allowed to have weapons. So the idea is just bizarre to suggest that some of the things we’re recommending are contrary to the Constitution.”

By stating that no amendment to the Constitution is absolute, it’s evident that Biden has no problem targeting the Second Amendment and the people all over the country.

The good news is, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey is not afraid to fight back and threaten the President with a lawsuit he will never forget.
