Not even two weeks had passed since Joe Biden became President of the United States. Yet, he had already managed to endanger the entire nation by appointing a Palestinian Muslim with ties to terror groups, Maher Bitar, to Senior Director for Intelligence at the National Security Council.

Bitar has a long history of associations with terror groups, dating back all the way to his time in college at Georgetown, where he was on the executive board of the school’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine. The chapter has documented ties to Islamic terrorist organizations such as Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the Marxist Popular Front for Palestine (PFLP).

SJP is the largest anti-Israel campus group in the country, and several Congressional testimonies show that the chapter has dangerously close ties with Islamic terrorists. Additionally, SJP was co-founded in 2000 at UC-Berkeley by Hatem Bazian, an anti-American and anti-Jewish activist who has called for the killing of Jews and Israel’s destruction.

Bitar has shown his support for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which seeks to wage economic warfare on Israel through international boycotts of products from Israel.

This means that a Muslim who believes in eradicating Israel and ties to terror organizations now has access to the United States’ most sensitive intelligence information.

In 2006, the Washington Post published an op ed titled “Why Is Georgetown Providing a Platform for This Dangerous Group?”

The “dangerous group” that was the op-ed’s focus was the Palestine Solidarity Movement (PSM), another pro-BDS group with ties to Hamas and history of hatred for the Jews. They have gone as far as supporting the murder of Jews.

At the group’s conference in 2004, held at Duke University, Huwaida Arraf, one of PSM’s main organizers, admitted that the Palestine Solidarity Movement works with Hamas, Islamic Jihad the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. All of those groups are designated as Islamic terrorist organization by the United States State Department. In 2006, Bitar was involved with organizing the group’s 5th Annual Conference at Georgetown University. In The Hoya, Georgetown’s student paper, Batir’s participation as one of the conference organizers was documented.

SJP member Maher Bitar (SFS ’06), one of the conference’s principal organizers, said that a group of about 25 volunteers made began making final technical preparations for the three-day event last night and are continuing today. Bitar said that plans for the convention were progressing well despite the threat of protests.

“I’m very optimistic. Hopefully, it’s going to be huge,” he said. “I think the student body has been overwhelmingly positive and supportive of what we’re doing. . Really the negativity has come out not from within the campus but from outside sources.”

Once again, on January 13th, 2006, in The Hoya, Bitar denied that PSM supported Islamic terrorist groups, despite plenty of evidence that proves otherwise.

“Maher Bitar (SFS ’06) and Bayann Hamid (SFS ’07), who sit on SJP’s executive board, denied charges that PSM has supported Palestinian terrorist organizations like Hamas and Islamic Jihad.”

Jewish groups have asked for Georgetown to distance themselves from SJP and PSM groups, giving the groups’ hatred for Jews and terror associations as reasons. However, these Palestinian terror-tied groups have been allowed to flourish at universities around the country for years. The worse thing is that they will soon have a supporter within the top ranks of US intelligence, who will be able to use his position to promote BDS and undermine US-Israel relations within the Joe Biden administration’s foreign policy.

During his campaign, Biden was featured in numerous Islamic political ads. During his discussion with Emgage Action, he had said, “I’ll be a president who seeks out, listens to, and incorporates the ideas and concerns of Muslim-Americans on everyday issues that matter most to our communities. That will include having Muslim American voices as part of my administration.”

During the same speech, Biden also promised to lift then-President Trump’s travel ban on individuals from Islamic terror hot zones on his first day in office, which he did the day of his inauguration.

Joe Biden is one of many Democrats who have falsely described Trump’s travel ban as a “Muslim Ban,” which President Trump never implemented. Instead, Trump’s travel ban halted travel for 90 days for residents of six Muslim countries — Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen — as all of those countries have high levels of terrorist activity.

Following Biden’s speech, Emgage announced that it was coordinating the “Muslim American Executive Selection Committee,” which will  “identify, evaluate and endorse highly qualified Muslim American candidates for a potential Biden administration.”

“Emgage,” which describes itself as “the political home for Muslim Americans,” is one organization focused on getting Muslims elected to political office in the United States.

Despite the evidence of his ties to terror groups, the NSC has decided to stand with Bitar and stated in response to the critics.
